Search Help Supplier Capability Tool enables sourcing specialists to locate suppliers by simultaneously searching on multiple supplier characteristics. This allows them to quickly locate all suppliers with a specific product and process profile. By selecting the supplier characteristics you require, SCT searches a database of your suppliers for companies that possess your specific needs.
Please note: Supplier Capability Tool can search on multiple certifications and multiple processes at the same time! So you can make one search for suppliers who can perform an entire operation routing! Hold down the cntl key while clicking on multiple certifications and/or processes.
For example:
To locate a supplier who performs 3-axis machining, stretch press and heat treat operations on aluminum, select the following:
- Material Specialty = aluminum
- While holding down the CNTL key, select 3-axis machining, stretch press and heat treat
- Then click SEARCH
If you are looking for a chemical company in California, you would enter:
- State = California
- Products = Chemicals
- Then click SEARCH
If you are looking for a company that provides electrical assemblies for the aerospace industry and is ISO 9001 certified, you would enter:
- Industry served = Aerospace
- Products = Electrical Assemblies
- Certifications = ISO9001
- Then click SEARCH
To locate an IT outsourcing company in China, you would enter:
- Country = China
- Product or Service = IT Support
- Then click SEARCH
If you are looking for a company that provides hazardous materials services in the United States, you would enter:
- Country = USA
- Product or Service = Hazardous Materials Management
- Then click SEARCH
